Mail Holder re-do

• First I printed out the word MAIL, then cut out and used double sided tape to hold it down. 
• I then painted the whole thing a new coat of black with acrylic craft paint. 
• Let it dry for about 30 minutes.
• Then I painted the word MAIL white with acrylic craft paint.
• I let it dry for another 30 minutes.
• I cut out some scrapbook paper with postal stamp scissors.
• Used double sided tape and taped it to the holder.
• I used a flat metal key that is a scrapbook embellishment and hot glued it to the scrapbook paper.
• There were three spots where hooks used to be (but I ended up losing the hooks over the years) and to hide those spots I hot glued some crystals over the holes.
• And to finish off the whole project I sprayed an acrylic spray to give it that nice glossy look. And the spray helps keep it all together.

Bird Jewelry catch-all

To create this bird jewelry catch-all I went to the Dollar Tree and bought some bird figures, clear plastic plates (pack of 8) and used what I had at home for scrapbook paper.

I cut the scrapbook paper to fit between two plates.  I used scrapbooking tape to hold down the paper to the bottom plate. Then I placed some hot glue in the middle of the plate (on top of the taped down scrapbook paper) and placed the top plate on and held it together until the glue set, which only took about 1 minute.

Then I used hot glue to glue on my bird figure making sure it hid the hot glue that is in the middle of the plate from gluing the plates together.  And that's it!

**I would of done this a little bit easier if I had mod podge. I wouldn't have used two plates, only one. I would of mod podged the scrapbook paper to the plate, But unfortunately at this moment I have no way to get any mod podge, (low on cash yada yada blah blah) anyway so I improvised!  I like how it looks and made one for my mom and one for my sister.

life's a bit crazy right now...

Hey everyone, Sorry I haven't been around much.  So much stuff going on and my uncle just passed away Tuesday.  Please forgive me if I'm distant for a while. I promise to be back real soon.  Take Care everyone and have a good weekend.

Handmade Clutch/bag

 

 This is an example of how I folded over the edging and 

glued it together to make the seem

I made this clutch/bag with fabric I got at walmart . I cut it to the size I wanted then about 1/2" inch around I folded over the fabric and hot glued it down, thus creating the edges.  I do not sew (well I'm sure I could if I had a machine I used to sew in school) and so I have to improvise on what I have. I folded the fabric over to make a pocket and I glued on the ends and down the sides.  This now created my pocket. I folded over the top fabric to make the flap, but first I folded about an inch down and glued that to make it more sturdy.  I glued on some velcro for the closure.  I added some ribbon to the front and it's finished!  It isn't sturdy enough to use for daily use if I were to use it as a purse, but I was only making it so I could have something pretty to place my medications in.  I figure I might as well have something to look forward to when I take all my meds.  This whole project took less than an hour. And since i didn't mind if it was perfect I did no measuring all eyeballing.  so yes it's a little crooked but who cares its only for me to use anyway :D

Mini Valentine's Day Card

Here's a mini Valentine's Day Card I made for my fiance. I made it small because I always give him HUGE cards and so this year to go with the Robert Smith painting I made for him I decided to go mini on the card. 

I made it on my computer in one of my art programs, printed it on card stock. It came out to be approx 3/4" x 3/4" and the envelope was approximately 1" x 1/2".

Red Rosette Headband

Here's a Rosette Headband I made for myself to wear on Valentines day last week.  Here is a tutorial I used to make my rosettes and I just glued them onto the headband then added some felt to the back of the rosettes once all glued to the headband to add stability.

Valentine's Day Rose Vase

 

I had this vase on hand along with the black river rocks. I made the black and red roses out of felt using this tutorial (starting from step number 7 on this tutorial) and then I hot glued some 'stems' (pipe cleaners) on to the roses.  Then I added a ribbon tied in a bow with a buckle slider. And that's it!  Fast and Easy!
